It’s not pleasant being in pain; being unable to do all the things you really want to do and just hoping that someone can get you feeling better, out of pain and back to functioning fully. We can help you ease the pain and, more importantly, help you KEEP it that way!

Low Back Pain
The most common type of back pain is referred to as ‘simple mechanical low back pain or non-specific low back pain’ which means there is no underlying disease present. This type of back pain is usually from spraining or straining the
muscles or ligaments that surround the joints in the back. In rarer cases, the discs which sit between the vertebrae in the low back may bulge out slightly and press on structures that can cause pain in the low back and into the legs. These
are known as disc bulges or herniations. If the bulge is large, it may press on nerves which can cause pains to shoot into the legs and feet and can also sometimes cause pins and needles and weakness.
If a joint or disc is injured, the muscles will tighten to protect the area but this tightening is often exaggerated by the body (overcompensation) and can be very painful, this makes the whole area become dysfunctional. The examination and
the treatments you will receive are designed to identify the main cause of your pain. This allows the process of healing to be speeded up by placing the spine, muscles and joints into an optimum functioning zone. Commonly, a condition will
have been silently developing for some time before one last thing tips it over the edge and you feel symptoms.
The low back is a structure designed for support and has relatively little movement when compared to other joints in the body. A constant repetitive movement that the spine is not designed for can put you at risk of injury. It may even be your natural posture that predisposes you to a problem. Once the cause of the problem is identified and tackled, the symptoms will reduce and the correct function should return.
Please remember; our Chiropractors are all fully qualified and members of The General Chiropractic Council who all use a range of techniques including manipulation, massage, electrotherapy, and can give advice on posture, exercise and ergonomics.
What should you expect when you first visit us?
After your warm welcome you will have a chance to relax while you fill in a questionnaire that helps us understand your condition. Once completed, your chiropractor will greet you and take you through to their examination room to take a full, comprehensive medical history. They will then do a thorough physical examination which will allow them to find out EXACTLY what is wrong with you and start the process of getting you
better. Condition allowing, we also start treatment on your first visit as we know
it’s very important to you to start feeling better straight away!
Don’t take our word for it, hear what our other patients have to say about
us...
Our patients range from birth to 92!
We know how many people we have
helped over the past 9 years and how we could be helping you. We think we do a great job, but don’t believe us, see what our patients have to say, in their own words, about what we do and how we have helped them. We hope you can
understand a little of how they felt when their pain eased and they could say to
themselves “I’m better”!
